Can PhD students write letters of recommendation?

 No, until you have a permanent affiliation as a Scientist or as an Asst. Professor in some institutions, your letter of recommendation would not be given any importance. 

That’s the unwritten and unsaid rule.

Decomposition of Diacetone Alcohol – Dilatometry Method Aim To study the kinetics of the decomposition of diacetone alcohol at 25 °C in the presence of alkali using the dilatometric method. Principle The decomposition of diacetone alcohol in an alkaline medium follows the reaction: (CH₃)₂C(OH)CH₂COCH₃ ⟶ 2 CH₃COCH₃ In the presence of excess alkali, the reaction rate is independent of the alkali concentration and depends only on the concentration of diacetone alcohol.
